3. Public Initiatives: We are actively working to build a County of Maui Percent-for-Art program that creates and integrates diverse artworks into our landscape in order to establish a vibrant visual environment that provides public places with civic distinction, as well as fostering meaningful connections between people and place. Our Arts-As-Catalyst initiative utilizes the arts as a bridge to enact plans that reflect the aspirations and goals shared by collaborating stakeholders. Our Wailuku Arts District project is working to establish a public-private partnership to manage the rich cross-section of arts entities throughout Wailuku.
